Description

Trees or shrubs, 2-25m high, bark gray white or dark brown. Branchlets grayish brown or grayish brown, twigs green, glabrous or puberulent. Winter buds ovate elliptic, glabrous. Leaf blade ovate, elliptic or oblong ovate, apex cuspidate or shortly acuminate, base rounded or cuneate. Inflorescence umbelliform, with 3-4 flowers and leaves opening together; pedicel 0.8-3.4 cm long, puberulent or glabrous; sepals triangular ovate or ovate oblong, apex obtuse or acute; petals white or pink, obovate. Drupe subglobose or ovoid, red to purple black, 0.9-2.5 cm in diameter. The flowering period is from March to May and the fruiting period is from May to September
