Description
The fruiting bodies of Coriolus versicolor are annual. Leathery to semi-fibrous, laterally sessile, often covered with shingles, often connected to the left and right, and the fruit bodies born on the cross section of the felled pile or fallen wood are often enclosed in a rosette shape. The cap is semicircular to shell-shaped, (1-6)cm×(1-10)cm, 1-3mm thick; the cap is white when it is young, and gradually becomes darker, with dense fine hairs, varying in length. Gray, white, brown, blue, purple, black and other colors, and form a moiré-like concentric ring pattern; the lid edge is thin and sharp, wavy, complete, and light. The surface of the tube mouth is white at the initial stage, gradually changing to yellowish-brown, russet to light gray-black; the mouth of the tube is round to polygonal, 3-5 per 1mm, and it cracks in the later stage. The bacterial tube is single layer, white, 1-2mm long. The flesh is white, fibrous, and fibrous to nearly leathery after drying. The spores are cylindrical, slightly curved, smooth, colorless, (1.5-2)μm×(2-5)μm.
