Description

Evergreen shrub, about 3M high. The root is thick and light yellow. Branchlets angular, gray, slender, densely coarsely hairy, simple leaves alternate, leaves papery or membranous, elliptic or ovate elliptic, 2-6.5cm long, 1-2.5cm wide, apex acuminate, base broadly cuneate, entire or toothed awn, main vein and leaf back pubescent; petiole short, hairy, flowers dioecious, inflorescence clustered or female inflorescence pseudo panicle, inflorescence cluster composed of branches with 1-3 flowers; male flowers 4-5 numbers, pink; The female flower is slightly larger than the male flower, 6-8 numbers, ovary superior, glabrous, stigma capitate. Drupe berry shaped, globose, red when ripe. The flowering period is from April to May and the fruiting period is from July to August.

Chemical Composition
